Description
English: Autostandaard van kapitein G.J. Wulfhorst, commandant van het 1e Bataljon Vechtwagens en de Mobiele Eenheid, 1941-1942. Het KNIL richtte in 1939 een bataljon vechtwagens op. Vechtwagen was de KNIL-benaming voor tank. Uit dit bataljon werd in december 1941 de eerste operationele tankeenheid van het Nederlandse leger geformeerd. Deze viel op 2 maart 1942 bij Subang op Java de Japanse invasiemacht aan. Deze 1e tankaanval uit Nederlands militaire geschiedenis werd uiteindelijk met grote personele en materiële verliezen afgeslagen. De autostandaard overleefde vervolgens de Japanse krijgsgevangenschap.
