File:Raising a flag over the Reichstag 2.jpg[edit]
It's the same photo as this fair use image https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Reichstag_flag_original.jpg Eaaaaugh (talk) 19:47, 24 December 2022 (UTC)
- Keep See the recent extensive discussion on [1] which mostly concluded that the license is valid. Yann (talk) 21:09, 24 December 2022 (UTC)
- Eaaaaugh, Yann - For some reason Yann uploaded another photo instead of the old one. These are two different photos. Returned the old version, look now it's not the same photo as here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Reichstag_flag_original.jpg. Ориенталист (talk) 07:03, 25 December 2022 (UTC)
- It is the same picture, only with a high resolution. Yann (talk) 10:06, 25 December 2022 (UTC)
- It's not a question of if this is the same image. The question is if the image is free. If this is the case, the "fair use" version can be simply replaced. Beaumain (talk) 09:52, 26 December 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, it is free. Yann (talk) 10:29, 26 December 2022 (UTC)
- Keep keep the orginal image that was uploaded as released under mil.ru, delete the different photo in the file history that is not released under a free license.--PlanespotterA320 (talk) 15:36, 30 December 2022 (UTC)
- Comment I am confused: both File:Raising a flag over the Reichstag.jpg and File:Raising a flag over the Reichstag 2.jpg claim the same mil.ru licensing (and the same filename at the source!). Then we have en:File:Reichstag flag original.jpg, is that just a low-res version of ...Reichstag.jpg? Is ...Reichstag.jpg the one that has been uploaded over this? Which ones are said not to have been published by mil.ru by the shown licence? And is there some reason for the en-wp one to be "fair use", other than unneeded caution? –LPfi (talk) 22:24, 7 January 2023 (UTC)
- The quality of this one is way better than the other. We should keep both, or delete the one with less resolution. 177.220.179.149 18:21, 20 January 2023 (UTC)
Kept: no valid reason for deletion. See my comment above. --Yann (talk) 20:17, 20 January 2023 (UTC)
